Lyrical Lyrical is a relatively new form of dance that fuses Contemporary, Jazz and Ballet. Dancers will learn how to express emotion and interpret the significance of lyrics through flowing, controlled movements. Upper body positions are generally different from a traditional ballet style, body angles unfamiliar to jazz or ballet technique. Constantly evolving, Lyrical can be performed with flexed or pointed feet, and relies heavily on the use of soft contraction and release of diaphragm, head, shoulder, hip rotation, off centre turns and layouts. |
