Modern

Modern dance was developed as a reaction against the rigid technique of ballet, using the bodies natural lines and energy, allowing for a greater range of movement. Danced to any style of music, Modern is often united with other dance forms to create new styles, and push the boundries of movement. Most commonly performed in bare feet, students will learn controlled falls and recovery, tension and release, and interesting interplays of body, weight and gravity.
