JUNIOR CLASSES (4 YEARS OLD)

*** 2019/20 PRE-REGISTRATION! Sign up before August 1st, receive a 15% discount on September 2019 tuition fees.

Excalibur offers a fun and safe environment where students of all ages are encouraged to grow, create, and reach their full potential!

Our Mini and Junior programs are designed to impart the basics of dance while encouraging students to explore their imagination and musicality. As we strive to enhance motor skills and creativity, children will move to music and learn introductory techniques, developing the foundations of dance. The use of props and creative movement activities will add elements of fun and play, all while improving balance, coordination, listening skills, and teamwork. Through proper encouragement and positive guidance, students will be offered every opportunity to discover a lifelong love of dance.

Upon submission of an online registration form, tuition fees shall be posted to your account. Fees will NOT process immediately. Within three (3) business days, you will be notified via email of the amount owing, including any additional fees and discounts. Initial fees will then process on a date indicated in the email confirmation. See below for detailed information regarding tuition, costume, and registration fees.

The Season

The 1st semester of our 2019/20 season begins on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019. The 2nd semester begins on Monday, January 6th, 2020. The season ends on Saturday, June 20th, 2020. Unless otherwise noted, classes run the entire 10 month season provided minimum enrollment is maintained.

Commitment

Though our season lasts for 10 months, from September to June, registration does NOT commit you to the entire season. Tuition is paid on a monthly basis. Students are free to add classes, transfer to a new class, and/or withdraw from class at any time. Important: Enrollment and billing will continue through to the end of the season unless office staff are otherwise notified.

Fees / Monthly Tuition

Initial fees are due at the time of registration. Tuition fees are then due on the 1st of each subsequent month. Tuition fees are listed above. Initial fees include the first month's tuition, a $30 registration fee per family, and a $45 costume fee per student/per class--costumes are provided for two recital performances at Vanier Hall (dates found here). Listed fees (tuition, costume, and registration) DO NOT include GST, taxes are additional. Families will be discounted for multiple students/classes.

Equal Payment Plan

Tuition fees are calculated as part of an “equal” payment plan (also known as a “balanced” or “averaged” payment plan). Fees are calculated by determining the total cost of the season, minus all studio closures, divided equally across the 10 month period between September 2019 and June 2020. The registrant pays the same fee each month regardless of how many classes are attended. Note that all scheduled closures are subtracted prior to the calculation of fees, thus reducing the average monthly tuition.

Costume Fee

We have experienced, professional seamstresses who do all of the work on your behalf--no sewing required! These costumes are rentals, to be worn during recital. The $45 fee covers both annual performances ($22.50 per recital, per class). Some classes do NOT require a costume fee (highland and adult classes, for example). Classroom attire remains the responsibility of the student.

Numbers

When multiple classes share the same name, each class is assigned a number (in brackets). For instance, Junior Ballet (1) and Junior Ballet (2). These numbers exist only to differentiate the classes on the schedule and have no impact on student placement.
