Lyrical is a relatively new form of dance that fuses Contemporary, Jazz and Ballet. Dancers will learn how to express emotion and interpret the significance of lyrics through flowing, controlled movements. Upper body positions are generally different from a traditional ballet style, body angles unfamiliar to jazz or ballet technique. Constantly evolving, Lyrical can be performed with flexed or pointed feet, and relies heavily on the use of soft contraction and release of diaphragm, head, shoulder, hip rotation, off centre turns and layouts.

[COVID-19] Studio operations have been adjusted to comply with provincial guidelines and restrictions, and a number of enhanced protocols are in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Please take a moment to examine these prior to signing up. If you are uncomfortable with any of the listed protocols (such as the mandatory drop-and-go policy), we would recommend delaying enrollment until the situation improves.

*** The following classes were offered during our fall semester and have been ongoing since September 2020. New students are welcome!

Our spring semester begins the week of Monday, January 18th, 2021.

RECREATIONAL:These are non-competitive, recreational classes open to all students of the appropriate age and required experience. View our Student Placement Guidelines for additional information.

TROUPE (Audition Required)

TROUPE: Dancers receive intensive training geared toward a competition environment. Classes and competitions require substantial dedication, commitment, and financial investment. Admission by audition ONLY. Contact office staff for admission details.

  • Select a Register link to begin your registration process.
  • The Wait List link indicates that a class has reached maximum enrollment, in which case wait listed students are given first consideration should a spot become available. Joining a wait list is free of charge.
  • Classes displaying a blank Register column are no longer accepting new students or are otherwise restricted. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience. If necessary, please contact office staff to discuss alternative enrollment options.

Upon submission of online enrollment, fees will NOT process immediately. Expect an email confirmation within three (3) business days. This will include the total amount owing, with applicable taxes and discounts. This confirmation will also schedule a date for the processing of your initial payment using the billing method provided during registration.

When multiple classes share the same name, each class is assigned a number (in brackets). For instance, Junior Ballet (1) and Junior Ballet (2). These numbers exist only to differentiate the classes on the schedule and have no impact on student placement.

Spring Semester

Our spring semester begins the week of Monday, January 18th, 2021 and ends on Saturday, June 26th, 2021. Unless otherwise noted, classes will continue for the entire semester provided minimum enrollment is maintained.

Due to the ever-changing and unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 crisis, should the studio be mandated to close by the provincial government, billing will be suspended and future fees shall be adjusted to compensate for any missed lessons.

Though our spring semester runs from January to June, registration does NOT commit you to the entire 6 month period. Tuition is paid on a monthly basis. Students are free to add classes, transfer to a new class, and/or withdraw from class at any time. Important: Enrollment and billing will continue through to the end of the semester unless office staff are otherwise notified.

Initial Fees & Monthly Tuition

Initial fees will be posted at the time of registration. Subsequent tuition fees are due on the 1st of each month. Initial fees include the first month's tuition (prorated if joining mid-month) and a $30 registration fee per family. No registration fee will be charged if you were enrolled in our fall semester. Tuition fees are listed above. Listed fees DO NOT include GST, taxes are additional. Families will be discounted for multiple students/classes.

Tuition is calculated based on class length and day of the week. For example: Monday classes offer fewer lessons due to stat holiday and long weekend closures, resulting in a lower tuition fee. 45 minute classes will likewise feature a lower fee compared to 60 minute classes.

Fixed Payment Plan

Tuition fees are calculated as part of a "fixed" payment plan (also known as an installment or equal payment plan). Fees are calculated by determining the total cost of the semester, minus all studio closures, divided equally across the 6 month period between January and June 2021. The registrant pays the same fee each month regardless of how many classes are attended. Note that all scheduled closures are subtracted prior to the calculation of fees, thus reducing the average monthly tuition.

Costume Fee

Due to restrictions placed on large gatherings by the province of British Columbia, and in an effort to safeguard public health and safety during the COVID-19 crisis, we cannot currently commit to a recital performance in June 2021. As such, no recital costume fee will be processed during spring semester registration. Studio management will reevaluate the possibility of a performance as the season progresses and a costume fee may be charged at a later date, if and when a recital is permitted by public health authorities.

Don't See the Class You're Looking For?

Given the realities of limited studio space, and in an effort to comply with social distancing requirements, the 2021 spring semester offers fewer classes than a regular season schedule. This is out of necessity. However, if you cannot find the appropriate skill level/age combination for the discipline of your choice, please let us know. We will do our best to offer additional options in future, based on demand.
